The joke follows a logical but absurd chain of reasoning. If the point of animal-themed costumes in the bedroom is to reference the most sexually impressive animals, then cats are a poor choice compared to ducks, whose reproductive biology is genuinely extreme and well-documented by scientists. The woman in the comic took this observation to its logical conclusion by replacing the conventional "sexy cat" costume with a duck costume -- which, while more scientifically accurate in its sexual connotations, is decidedly unsexy and disturbing to her partner.
