Explanation
This comic depicts a woman caught in bed with another man by her partner. In the final panel labeled "Moments Ago," she is shown launching into an enthusiastic science monologue: "Everything is in flux! Cells of our bodies are dying and being born right now! We're surrounded by constantly changing magnetic and electric fields and sounds and light we can't even see!"
Her partner says, "I don't see how that applies," and she cheerfully admits, "It doesn't, but it's neat!" The joke is that the woman is using a passionate but completely irrelevant science speech as a deflection tactic when caught in an awkward situation. Rather than offering an excuse or apology, she tries to distract with genuine scientific enthusiasm, acknowledging herself that the facts have nothing to do with the situation at hand.
