Explain SMBC — the wiki for Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

This comic depicts the Second Coming of Jesus, but with a twist. Jesus descends from the sky and announces he has returned to take "all the strongest, richest, sexiest humans to Heaven." Someone in the crowd below starts to object -- "But, didn't you say that..." -- before trailing off with "Oh. Oh, right."

The caption reads: "The meek shall inherit the Earth." The joke reinterprets the famous biblical Beatitude (Matthew 5:5) in a darkly literal way. If Jesus takes all the strong, rich, and attractive people to Heaven, then the meek are indeed left to inherit the Earth -- not as a reward for their humility, but simply because they are the only ones remaining.
