Explanation
This comic plays on the idea of asking God for a sign. A young man prays, saying that his priest Father Gerald told him masturbation is bad, but he is unsure. He announces he is going to watch "wholesome ladies volleyball" and asks God to give him a sign if He wants him to masturbate. The obvious joke is that watching women play volleyball will inevitably cause arousal, which the man will conveniently interpret as a divine sign.
The second panel jumps to "Next Sunday," where the man is excitedly telling his priest that his penis "quadrupled in size" -- an erection he has interpreted as God's miraculous endorsement of masturbation. The comic mocks the way people use prayer and "signs from God" to retroactively justify doing whatever they already wanted to do, applying a convenient layer of religious justification to entirely predictable biological responses.
