Explanation
This comic follows a narrator who explains that their mom was becoming a "creepy cat lady," shown exclaiming "I have so many babies!" about her cats. To help cure her obsession, the narrator creates a device that announces facts about cats whenever she is near. Initially, it shares cute, harmless trivia like "A group of cats is a clowder."
However, the narrator then remotely adjusts the device to share increasingly disturbing but real facts about cats. The cat facts escalate from "I like to watch rodents beg for death" to anatomical facts about feline reproduction to the morbid "If you die and nobody notices, I will eat your body." These are all based on actual cat behavior -- cats are indeed sadistic hunters, male cats do have barbed reproductive organs, and cats have been documented consuming their deceased owners.
The plan works: the narration reveals "Now she'''s a dog person." But the final panel delivers a punchline that undermines the victory. The narrator adds "For the moment..." as the dog announces its own disturbing fact. The votey panel drives home that dogs are no better, with the dog declaring an equally off-putting statement. The comic plays on the idea that while we anthropomorphize our pets as cute and lovable, the biological reality of animal behavior is often quite unsettling regardless of species.
