This comic is titled "Batman vs. Programming." A programmer tells Batman that he forgot to put parentheses after "main" in his code. Batman throws a batarang at the programmer's head, then ominously declares, "I have no parens" -- a pun combining the programming term "parens" (short for parentheses) with "parents."

The joke works on two levels. In programming, forgetting parentheses after a function name like main() is a common syntax error, and "parens" is the standard abbreviation programmers use for parentheses. But Batman's most defining character trait is that his parents were murdered when he was a child, making "I have no parents" his quintessential tragic backstory. By conflating the two meanings, the comic turns Batman's deep emotional trauma into a coding pun -- he can't add parentheses because he has no "parens."
