Explanation
This comic uses the format of a werewolf transformation story to parody the experience of becoming a lazy, unmotivated person. A man desperately tells his girlfriend she can'''t dump him because he wasn'''t always this way. He explains that three years ago, under a full moon, he was "bitten" -- but instead of being bitten by a werewolf, he was bitten by a guy who played video games sixteen hours a day and had no interest in employment. Now, slowly but surely, he is "becoming him."
The horror movie framing -- the full moon, the bite, the desperate plea for help against an "evil force" -- is played completely straight, but the curse being transmitted is simply laziness and unemployment rather than lycanthropy. The girlfriend is unimpressed, saying she didn'''t think his excuses could get any dumber. The man then adds that the guy who bit him also needs 50 bucks from her to make rent this month, revealing that the "curse" has already progressed to the point of mooching money on behalf of fellow slackers.
The votey continues the escalation with the man adding that the guy also ate her leftover pizza, piling on one more petty offense that is entirely in character for the type of person whose "bite" supposedly transformed him. The comic works by mapping the tropes of supernatural horror onto the very mundane reality of a boyfriend who has simply become a couch potato.
