Explanation
This comic depicts a pair of dinosaurs in the aftermath of an asteroid impact. The skies are blackened with asteroid dust, and the T-Rex narrator solemnly observes that the cold will come soon, and with it, death. However, the one comfort left in these final days is that no one will judge their forbidden love. Two dinosaurs of different species -- what appears to be a T-Rex and a long-necked sauropod -- embrace and exchange "I love you"s, finally free to express their cross-species romance as extinction approaches.
The joke takes a dark comedic turn in the final panels, where a third dinosaur (appearing to be a smaller white dinosaur) approaches and says, "Since you''re gonna die anyway, can I consume you?" followed by pleading, "C''mon baby, it''s my birthday." The romantic and poignant moment of forbidden love at the end of the world is immediately undercut by another dinosaur trying to use the apocalypse as justification for cannibalism (or at least predation), treating the impending extinction as an excuse to indulge in taboo behavior, just as the couple used it as an excuse for their own taboo romance.
The votey shows a simple dinosaur saying "Just the teeth," adding yet another layer of absurdist dark humor about what exactly the third dinosaur wants to consume. The comic plays on the idea that the end of social norms during an apocalypse can justify all sorts of behavior, from the heartwarming (forbidden love) to the disturbing (being eaten).
