Explanation
This comic explores the difference between how humans and other mammals interpret the baring of teeth. In humans, showing teeth is a smile -- a sign of happiness and friendliness. In most other mammals, however, baring teeth is a display of aggression, since teeth are weapons used in combat. The comic notes that the aggressive interpretation is arguably the more sensible one.
The joke comes in the final panels, which flip the perspective. A character named "Hanes the Woodcat" is shown to an audience alongside a "rare dormouse lemur," and then a worried-looking animal asks, "What do other animals think of us?" The punchline plays on the idea that if animals saw a crowd of smiling humans, they would interpret all those bared teeth as a terrifying display of mass aggression rather than friendliness.
