browser-history
Explanation
The Joke
A man panics and shouts "No! Don't look at my browser history!" as his partner sits down at his computer. She looks at the screen and exclaims "Oh sweet Jesus!!" — setting up the expectation that she has found pornography or something similarly embarrassing. But then comes the subversion: she says "Where's the porno? This is just places to get discount airfare and ideas for kitchen redesign." The man's browser history contains nothing salacious at all — just mundane, middle-aged interests.
He then sheepishly confesses, "Sometimes at night after you fall asleep I do old people stuff." His partner reacts with disgust: "Ewww!"
The Humor
The comic sets up a classic sitcom scenario — someone panicking about their browser history being discovered — and then inverts the expected punchline. Instead of the embarrassment being about pornography or some other conventionally shameful content, the man's secret shame is that he is boring. He secretly browses for discount flights and kitchen renovation ideas like a stereotypical middle-aged person, and this is treated with the same horror and disgust as if it were something truly scandalous. The joke plays on the anxiety of aging and losing one's edge — the idea that becoming interested in practical, domestic things is somehow more shameful than having a hidden pornography habit. The partner's "Ewww!" reaction to "old people stuff" treats mundane domesticity as if it were a perversion, completing the role reversal.
