Explanation
The Joke
The comic reimagines the Garden of Eden story. Adam says to Eve, "And you, Eve, you and all women ever after will experience pain in childbirth, eat from the cursed ground, get old..." Eve interjects with a "Yeah..." and Adam continues explaining the divine punishment. But then another voice (possibly God or Adam continuing) says, "Here's another thing where you shall bear fruit and things to get a poke in the eye," while Eve responds nonchalantly.
In the final panel, Eve says, "Look, whatever. I'm also cursing the man so that he will find going to work every day sucks!" God then interjects: "God, you're bad at this." The comic plays with the Genesis narrative where God curses Adam and Eve after eating the forbidden fruit, but reimagines the "curses" as just describing the normal unpleasant realities of human life -- painful childbirth, aging, tedious work -- things that would have happened anyway. The implication is that God's "punishments" are not really punishments at all, just the baseline human condition dressed up as divine retribution.
The Humor
The humor comes from deflating the dramatic weight of the Genesis curses by having the characters recognize that these "punishments" are just ordinary facts of life. Eve's bored, dismissive reaction suggests that pain in childbirth and aging are not exactly shocking revelations requiring divine authorship. The meta-joke is that whoever is doling out these curses is essentially just describing what life is like and calling it a punishment, which is a funny commentary on how the Eden narrative frames universal human experiences as the consequence of a specific act of disobedience.
