Explanation
This comic pokes fun at how awkward and stilted it sounds when someone tries to express genuine, sincere affection for a friend using direct language. In the first panel, a man launches into an earnest speech: "Hey, wanna get together because I plus our friendship? I genuinely enjoy your conversation, and because of some combination of neurochemistry and our shared togetherness, mature men can spend time together."
In the second panel, he translates this into normal human speech: "I mean, you wanna meet up and, you know, do a thing or eat a thing?" The other man responds with relief: "Yeah, let's go much."
The joke highlights the contrast between how male friendships actually work -- communicating through vague, low-key invitations ("wanna do a thing?") -- versus how strange it would be to articulate the actual emotional content behind those invitations.
