just-wear-it
Explanation
The Joke
A woman tells a man she has designed a condom with a computer embedded in it. When the man asks "Why?", she mysteriously says "Shhhh... just put it on." In the next panel, labeled "Later...", the woman is shown gazing adoringly at the man and saying "You Turing-complete me."
The Humor
The punchline is a play on the iconic romantic line "You complete me" from the 1996 film Jerry Maguire. By saying "You Turing-complete me," the woman is making a computer science pun. Turing completeness refers to a system that can simulate any Turing machine — in other words, a system capable of performing any computation given enough time and resources. By embedding a computer in the condom, the man (or at least part of him) has become a computational device, allowing the woman to deliver this nerd-romance pun. The joke plays on the intersection of intimacy and technology, with the entire condom-computer invention existing solely to set up the wordplay.
References
Turing completeness is named after Alan Turing, who in 1936 described the concept of a universal computing machine. A system is Turing-complete if it can be used to simulate any other computational system. Common examples include most programming languages, the Game of Life, and even some unexpectedly simple systems like Rule 110 cellular automata.
