Kitten
Explanation
This comic is a fairy tale parody of the classic "knight rescues the princess from the tower" trope. A knight arrives at a tower announcing he has come to rescue a princess, but she immediately challenges his qualifications, asking how he plans to get past the dragon and noting he'll be "the third one this week" to attempt a rescue -- implying previous knights have failed and likely died.
Rather than facing the dragon, the knight is told to "gently cradle this kitten while you make your way up the tower." In the next panel, the knight is shown completely besotted with the kitten, cooing "Aww, my little scaredy-poo! My little courage-boo!" while cuddling it, having completely abandoned the rescue mission.
The princess shouts "Hey! Come back!" as the knight walks away with the kitten. The joke is that the kitten was more of a liability than a help -- it was supposed to be part of the rescue, but instead its cuteness completely distracted the knight from his original purpose. It satirizes how easily people (even heroic archetypes) can be derailed from important tasks by something adorable.
