request
Explanation
A couple is in bed, and one partner says, "Charlotte, when I die..." Charlotte responds, "Anything, dear. Anything." The dying wish is then revealed: the person wants their penis surgically enlarged to ten times its current size, and then wants the body secretly donated to one of those plasticization exhibits (like Body Worlds, where preserved human bodies are displayed publicly).
In the next panel, Charlotte revises her blanket promise: "Almost anything, dear." The final panel shows her later, apparently researching the request anyway, noting: "I think you can buy whale dicks in Japan?"
The humor comes from the bait-and-switch of the deathbed request trope. Instead of a sentimental dying wish, it's an absurd and crude request for posthumous genital enlargement and public display. Charlotte's initial unconditional "anything" is immediately tested, and her revision to "almost anything" is the natural comedic beat. The final panel adds another layer by suggesting she might actually try to fulfill the spirit of the request through alternative means, showing a mix of devotion and practical problem-solving that makes the joke even more absurd.
