touch
Explanation
This comic retells the myth of King Midas, who wished that everything he touched would turn to gold. In the original myth, Midas realizes his gift is a curse when he can no longer eat, drink, or embrace his loved ones because everything turns to gold.
Here, Midas has cursed himself so that "anyone I touch emotionally would be turned to gold." His advisor points out that this seems awful, but Midas dismisses the concern. In the punchline, the advisor notes "Nobody's turned to gold yet" and another character confirms "Everyone's fine and here is still repulsive." The joke is that Midas is so emotionally repulsive or uncharismatic that his devastating curse is completely inert -- he simply cannot touch anyone emotionally.
The comic is a character study in the guise of a myth parody: the cruelest version of the Midas curse is one that reveals you have no emotional impact on anyone whatsoever.
