twin-2
Explanation
This comic shows what appears to be a dramatic soap-opera-style scene. A mysterious figure tells someone: "I can reveal it to you now. You have a long-lost twin, separated at birth."
The person reacts with shock: "What? Oh my God! He looks exactly like me! It's like a perfect mirror!" The mysterious figure offers: "I can arrange a meeting."
But the person refuses: "No, no. I can do that myself." In the final panel, the person -- now revealed to possibly be a villain or con artist -- declares something like: "Precisely! I am you from the future! Give me all your money and the world will be saved!" The twin is shown collapsed on the ground, having been scammed.
The comic subverts the classic "long-lost twin" trope from soap operas and melodramas. Instead of the expected emotional reunion, the character immediately realizes that having an identical twin is a perfect opportunity for fraud. If someone looks exactly like you, you can impersonate them -- or, more cleverly, approach them claiming to be a time traveler (since they look identical, the "future you" claim is more believable). The joke is that the character's first instinct upon learning they have an identical twin isn't joy or curiosity but rather "how can I exploit this person?" It's a cynical take on human nature wrapped in a parody of dramatic reveal scenes.
