You Are Under Sexy Arrest
Explanation
The Joke
The comic opens with a muscular police officer bursting in on women at what appears to be a strip club, announcing: "Ladies! You are under arrest for being too sexy!" This sets up what seems like a cheesy, campy scenario.
But the subsequent panels reveal this is not a fun fantasy -- it is a dystopia. The narration explains: "The virus has taken 95% of the population with it. Humanity's future is now more important than personal freedom." A "Council of Patriarchs" now controls all reproductive choices. The women will be "confined to the detention center until such time as you achieve political harmlessness."
In the final panels, the sexy officer routine is critiqued by someone who says it "has way too much backstory." The officer indignantly responds: "Madame, you are talking to a master of the arts."
The Humor
The comic starts with a classic cheesy fantasy premise -- the sexy cop arresting women for being too attractive -- and then subverts it by building an elaborate, dark dystopian narrative around it. Instead of a lighthearted bit of camp, the routine becomes a grim tale of population collapse, authoritarian control of reproduction, and the suppression of personal freedom.
The punchline works on two levels. First, the audience member's complaint that the routine "has way too much backstory" is a funny critique of someone who has wildly overthought what should be a simple strip act. Second, the performer's defensive response -- calling himself "a master of the arts" -- elevates a strip club act to high art, suggesting he sees his dystopian worldbuilding as sophisticated creative work rather than an impediment to entertainment.
The comic satirizes both the shallow fantasies of the "sexy cop" trope and the tendency to over-intellectualize entertainment by adding unnecessary narrative complexity.
