Explanation
This comic parodies the conventions of ancient prayer and religious sacrifice by transplanting them into a modern domestic context.
In the first panel, a man recites an elaborate prayer to Zeus in the style of Homeric invocations, referencing sacred fanes, sacred flames, and slain oxen -- all the trappings of ancient Greek worship. His friend interrupts to ask what he's doing.
The man explains he went on Wikipedia, read that ancient peoples made animal sacrifices to Apollo, and decided to burn a plague victim on his desk. His friend points out that other gods also expected ox fat and offerings. The man sheepishly says "um."
The joke then escalates: the friend notes that the last time he visited, the man had blood or liquids all over his living room carpet, and the man was "getting shredded" (apparently from physical rituals). The man protests that he doesn't do that anymore -- he switched to watching streaming services instead of performing violent ancient rites, specifically so his friend wouldn't have to navigate around ancient religious artifacts.
In the final panels, the friend asks a pointed question: "I make your life easier by not considering you. Have you considered returning the other way?" -- essentially calling out the one-sidedness of the accommodation. The man simply responds "GODDAMMIT!" in frustration.
The humor lies in the absurdity of someone literally adopting ancient Greek religious practices in a modern apartment, and the social awkwardness that ensues -- a satire of people who take up elaborate, inconvenient hobbies or lifestyles and expect others to work around them, combined with the comedy of treating horrific ancient rituals as casual household activities.
